Club Synergy Volleyball – Junior National Volleyball (Youth) Club Synergy is a Junior National travel volleyball club that is run by college and high school coaches, middle school coaches, and parent volunteers. Club Synergy fields team divisions ranging from 12-18 years old, but girls as young as 8 are welcome to come and play as well. The Junior National season typically runs from January thru the end of March, with tournaments every other weekend. Placements take place at the beginning of November with practices beginning shortly thereafter. Club Synergy is not tryout based because they follow a “everybody plays” philosophy. Watauga County Parks and Recreation (Adult) Watauga County Parks and Rec offers many opportunities for adults to partcipate in volleyball throughout the year. Co-ed Volleyball begins in late September and runs for 8 to 10 weeks. Adult Volleyball begins in mid-January and runs for 8 to 10 weeks. Watauga Middle School Volleyball (Youth) Locally, girls in the 7th and 8th grade have to opportunity to tryout for a middle school volleyball team at their local school. All eight elementary/middle schools field teams beginning in August after school begins. Starting in September and running to the beginning of October, schools within the county will play a season culminating in a middle school tournament hosted at Watauga High School by the JV and Varsity volleyball teams of Watauga.

Watauga High School and Appalachian State University Volleyball (Young Adult/Youth) In addition to middle school volleyball, Watauga County Schools fields two competitive volleyball teams at the high school level, a JV and Varsity team. Tryouts begin at the end of July before school, and matches begin the first week of August. The season ends at the end of October. Appalachian State University For those who just love to watch volleyball at a highly competitive level, Appalachian State University has a NCAA Division I program that is fun for all ages. Admission to volleyball games at Appalachian is free. Click here for a schedule.
