Trails Advocacy – Letter to local leaders

Posted on Jul 10, 2013 | 0 comments

High Country Recreation is committed to promoting trail and greenway development.  In addition to the medical and social benefits, trails and greenways help build our local economy by attracting small businesses, increasing tourism spending and saving on health care costs (among other things).  We recently sent a letter along with an information sheet to our local leaders including the Boone Town Council and the Watauga County Commissioners encouraging them to support trails and greenways as a means of local economic development.  This was signed by many different partners including business, medical and non-profit groups.  Please click below to read this letter and information sheet (including footnotes to relevant research).
